Azeem Latib is an interventional cardiologist at San Raffaele Hospital and EMO-GVM Centro Cuore Columbus in Milan Italy. He started his career in South Africa and obtained his specialization in internal medicine and cardiology at Groote Schuur Hospital in the University of Cape Town where he is now honorary senior lecturer. In 2008 he obtained his masters in interventional cardiology in Milan, at San Raffaele Hospital where he is now co-director of research and structural heart disease. Azeem has dedicated his efforts in maintaining both a research and a clinical approach to interventional cardiology. He has published over 400 publications in peer-reviewed journals and books. His interests and experience include complex coronary interventions, structural heart disease and new device innovation. He is actively involved in pre-clinical animal work for coronary and structural interventions. He has also performed a number of first-in-man procedures and is principal investigator in numerous CE-mark and multi-center studies.
